Small cars are not all the same, it is good to make a statement. If you are not a boring, dull person, thought must be given to some stylish wheels!
Style and practicality are what count. With the right car you can look cool and sensible, all at the same time. If performance is paramount you will already be way ahead of this article! Most small cars are now available as automatics and diesel versions in some markets. Air conditioning is worthwhile and all these babies have airbags, and abs brakes as a minimum.
Small cars, Look at Suzuki Swift, Toyota Yaris, Ford Fiesta, Renault Clio, Daihatsu Sirion (owned by Toyota) Peugeot 206 (old) Honda Jazz, VW Polo, Mini (expensive and cramped in back but great) Fiat Punto, Hyundai Getz, Nissan Micra, Mitsubishi Colt. Vauxhall Corsa(Europe)
All of the above are good, probably access to dealer and price would be the decider. We would lean towards the Suzuki, Ford, Renault and particularly the Mini if price and limited space no object.
There are some even smaller cars for city use. Try, Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 1007 (all basically the same with different badges and Europe only) VW Fox, Fiat Panda, Kia Picanto, Ford Ka, and Smart (Strictly two seats only)
Go for the right colour, silver is always good and does not show the dirt, Black, cool but high maintainence, any pale metallic is good. Bright yellow or red, are ok. Dark colours (apart from black) avoid. Worst colours, Gold, Green and White.
With any of the above you will enjoy driving in urban areas far more, as well as saving on fuel, maintainence and insurance when compared to a big or older car.
